Peacock Vilakku

A peacock vilakku is a peacock-headed oil lamp that is considered to bring happiness, prosperity, and blessings to a household. It is also used in religious ceremonies and festivals, such as pujas and aartis, to invoke the blessings of deities. 

Significance

In Hindu culture, lighting brass lamps with peacocks is significant because brass is considered auspicious. Brass is part of the Panchaloha, or five-metals, which is an alloy used to make Hindu temple idols and sculptures.
